A Practical Introduction To Photon Spectroscopy
This school is primarily aimed at advanced students who have completed their Bachelor degree in physical, engineering or life sciences, and earlystage researchers. Students will be introduced to spectroscopic and theoretical methods that are being developed and adopted to probe the molecular structure, function and dynamics of complex material systems.
The 10-day-program will comprise of 5 days of lectures and 4 days of hands-on measurements in small groups at several experimental stations at the synchrotron source BESSY II and the FU Laser Lab. In addition, a 1-day computation exercise is offered where attendees will perform standard calculations of spectra, and develop an understanding of how experimentalists and theoreticians work together.
