SUMMARY:HZB-KFS User-Workshop: BESSY III Instruments
DESCRIPTION:
X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:
BESSY III Signature Instruments

Since summer 2025, HZB has been developing a set of Signature Instruments for BESSY III. They are based on our latest concepts for undulators and beamlines and complemented by dedicated experimental chambers, sample environments as well as detectors, laboratory capabilities, automation, and data management and analysis. Each instrument is planned together with a team of expert synchrotron users, either in-house or from long-term partners, ensuring that the instruments are tailored to scientific needs.

In the HZB-KFS user workshop in September 2026, we aim to get the perspective of our users on the design and functionality of these instruments. Rather than presenting past research results, we specifically invite users to present how they envision using these instruments for their (future) science and which capabilities will be key to their success. This includes not only beam properties, but also requirements for lab infrastructures, in-situ/operando sample environments, and data handling.
