Alexander Wu Chao is one of the most important theorists in accelerator physics and has made many major contributions, including to the Stanford National Accelerator Laboratory (SLAC) and Stanford University. He will visit the HZB in August and take part in measurements at the Metrology Light Source. Alexander Wu Chao will also give two lectures to which you are cordially invited.

Alexander Wu Chao worked at SLAC, Superconducting Super Collider in Berkeley and was a professor at Stanford University. He dealt among other things with the theory of collective beam instabilities in accelerators, nonlinear dynamics of particle motion in accelerators, laser-particle interaction, spin dynamics and physics of coherent radiation sources. His work has been recognized with several awards, including the Wideröe Prize of the European Physical Society, the US Particle Accelerator School Achievement Prize, and the Robert R. Wilson Prize.
