The association is concerned, as the name suggests, with the quality of the periodical vehicle inspection (PTI). The members are the PTI-Organizations DEKRA, GTÜ, FSP and of course the all TÜV'e. The association represents over 90% of the German market of PTI.

The association operates nationwide and maintains a uniform measurement tool whose results are included in the quality of work of the members. Parallel to this the supervising authorities gets periodically reports about the quality indicators. For the first time comparable and transparent information to evaluate the quality of the vehicle inspection. The association is now in its fifth year and operates one fixed base and collaborated also on the European harmonization of the PTI.
