ISO honors Michael Krumrey for excellence
The International Organization for Standardization recognizes the PTB scientist for his many years of leadership
The head of the department 7.2 “X-ray metrology with synchrotron radiation” at the National Metrology Institute of Germany, PTB, in Adlershof, Dr Michael Krumrey, has received the ISO Excellence Award. The award ceremony took place during a meeting of the ISO committee ISO/TC 24/SC 4 ‘Particle characterization’, held from May 8 to 10, 2026, at the Nakanoshima Center of Osaka University. With this award, the International Organization for Standardisation (ISO) recognizes his outstanding commitment as Convenor of the working group (WG 10) on small angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) over the past 12 years and his leadership on standardization projects, e. g. on particle concentration determination with SAXS. The ISO meeting took place in conjunction with the 10th World Congress on Particle Technology (https://wcpt10.org/).
