“VivaCity Adlershof“ - A breath of fresh air for the Technology Park

Urban feel and vital living are coalescing at Adlershof. Located in the immediate vicinity of Johannisthal landscape park, “VivaCity Adlershof“, a new residential quarter designed for prime-age people and retirees, will upgrade the high-tech location from early 2018.

Here, between the city of Adlershof and its natural surroundings, “VivaCity Adlershof” will combine attractive age-appropriate housing and selected service and cooperation facilities. The concept is ambitious, aiming at creating an environment where members of the older generation can lead an active, full and self-determined life up until old age.

Of course, families too can find a new home here, enjoying both the advantages of city life and the relaxing leafy surroundings. On an effective area of approximately 16,000 square metres, “VivaCity Adlershof” will create new spaces for housing, offices, service provisions, old-age care, daycare facilities for children, and daily shopping. The residential area will be diverse, boasting a very high quality of living not only because of its proximity to the countryside, but also thanks to being linked to numerous sports and health facilities: an environment offering privacy, the best of company, high-class “Universal Design Apartments” as well as first-grade care facilities right on the doorstep.

Containing up to 120 apartments, the three and four-storeyed houses will be developed as a co-operative project, thus ensuring affordable rental spaces. The two to four-room apartments are geared at families, singles or shared living, offering individual living spaces for all ages. Moreover, all apartments will boast a terrace or balcony.

A care facility will offer 99 places for residential care as well as four care apartments with rooftop terraces. A further rooftop terrace attached to the facility’s restaurant will serve as a communal space.
The total space of the service building is designed to cover approximately 3,000 square metres. A supermarket will occupy roughly one third of the space, while the remaining 2,000 square metres can accomodate offices or, above all, medical or medical-related services. With a floor space of approximately 1,000 square metres, a daycare facility for children will host more than 100 kids and provide ample room for outdoor playing.

One of “VivaCity Adlershof’s” favourable side-effects is the creation of approximately 140 new jobs. All in all, the project’s innovative integrated concept will make for a lively urban mix for its residents to enjoy during what will possibly be the best time of their life.
