Berlin Adlershof: Leading in Optics and Photonics
Germany’s largest Science and Technology Park will present itself at the world’s largest photonics industry trade show Photonics West 2016
The Science and Technology Berlin Adlershof ranks among the leading locations for research and development of light-based technologies worldwide. Its competencies range from basic research to high-tech companies. Its scientific institutes and companies cover the whole range of the electromagnetic spectrum - from hard x-rays to radio waves. Adlershof will present itself at the world’s largest photonics industry trade fair in San Francisco, CA, Hall D North at Booth 4629 / 41 from 16-18 February 2016.
More than 120 companies with over 1,600 employees are currently working in the fields of optics, photonics and microsystems technology in Berlin Adlershof. WISTA-MANAGEMENT GMBH, the Science and Technology Park’s operating company, provides them with a tailored infrastructure including the six buildings of the Photonics Centre (ZPO) that offers 18,600 sqm of space for laboratories, production halls and offices.
Companies based in Adlershof focus on the development and manufacturing of products in laser technology, spectroscopy, the development of scientific apparatus, and analytics. They include internationally renowned brands like Bruker, Corning, and Jenoptik. Since October 2015 the worldwide leading engineering and laser technology company Trumpf has been focusing on advance development of laser diodes. Ten new arrivals and seven recently expanded companies in 2015 alone make photonics and optics the fastest growing sectors of Adlershof.
