Rohde & Schwarz SIT presents new performance classes of layer 2 network encryptors at the CeBIT / New encryption solution closes market gap
The SITLine ETH4G provides network administrators with more flexibility concerning the planning of their infrastructures. For the first time worldwide, a single device simultaneously encrypts four lines in existing 100 Mbit and 1 Gbit Ethernet infrastructures. Besides saving space in the server rack, line redundancy is now easier to achieve in this line speed range.
In case of increasing data traffic, the SITLine ETH4G offers investment security. It is possible to upgrade the performance to 4x 10 Gbit Ethernet by means of a firmware update.
R&S®CrossMediaConnect
The SITLine ETH10G is the only layer 2 encryptor that combines electrical as well as optical connections in just one device. The R&S®CrossMediaConnect approach fits into heterogeneous structures in existing data centers and wide area networks (WAN). It does not matter which cabling system is used, the SITLine ETH10G is easily integrated.
Smart Grid Firewall for IEC-104 protocol
Public utility companies and energy suppliers can effectively protect their smart grids with the Next Generation Firewall R&S®SITGate. As an additional firewall, the SITGate monitors and filters the data streams at the internal perimeter between the company’s office and process control networks.
With a smart grid protocol decoder for the IEC-60870-5-104 protocol used in energy control networks, SITGate provides absolute control over data streams in telecontrol networks. For instance, the device ensures that distributed power generators can only send test values and status information but not control commands or malware to other network elements or control centers.

The TopSec Office Gateway connects all internal fixed lines to the secure TopSec telephony environment. The new Windows Phone app is going to celebrate its world premiere at this year’s CeBIT.
