A place of opportunities

Adlershof is becoming an increasingly attractive place to live

Visitors Berlin Adlershof

A residential area should be lively, green and well connected, with every opportunity for housing, work and enjoying leisure time. Nothing can compare with seeing an urban location grow and flourish. Adlershof is becoming an increasingly attractive place to live, because everything that makes city living appealing is unfolding for all to see.

What does a person need to live a happy life? A beautiful, modern home, an interesting job that is easy to get to, having all the essentials close at hand, alongside a variety of options for leisure, shopping and sports – in short, an area offering practically unlimited possibilities. Adlershof’s excellent infrastructure has long been a point in its favour. But now the area is growing at lightning speed, and its vibrancy is visible wherever you look.

Many families are moving to Adlershof and discovering the environment for themselves, and one thing they are really pleased with is the four kindergarten that have already opened. Even so, demand outstrips supply. The local planners responded to the need some time ago, and social infrastructure is being put in place at top speed. A vivid example is “VivaCity”, where 129 new nursery places are being created, alongside superbly equipped rented homes from a housing association, modern offices, a supermarket, sheltered housing and a residential care centre. The focus here is on independence and on people living together intheir own way. The “Zum Jupiter” playground on Groß-Berliner Damm, with its outer space theme, provides play equipment aimed at 3 to 12 years old children on an area of around 4,500 square metres. Climbing equipment, trampolines and roundabouts give pride of place to a walk-in model of a spaceship. The birch copse that formed part of the original concept gives shade in summer. What is more, the oak grove next to the Adlershof S-Bahn station is being revamped with an eye to improving leisure and sports facilities for students. There is a projected school complex providing an integrated secondary school with academic sixth form alongside a dual-stream primary school on the corner of Hermann-Dorner-Allee and Eisenhutweg – plans concerning this matter are presently being investigated. A decision is expected soon.

Both families with children and all the other residents of Adlershof – students, single people, couples without children, and older people – are already benefitting today from the excellent connections the area enjoys with the public transport network: along with the fast S-Bahn links to the airports and the central railway station, the Berlin ring road and the A100 motorway both make Adlershof very easy to access. A plan-approval procedure is currently under way to extend the tram line to the Schöneweide S-Bahn station, which would enhance the convenience on site.

An area that has so many features and this much potential to offer is bound to exceed the expectations of its residents. High quality of life is guaranteed in a location that promises to bring the future into the present.
