Between Adlershof and Wroclaw
Networked Assets has been working on building Europe’s digital foundations for 20 years
Networked Assets was founded in Berlin in 2006 out of a highly pragmatic idea. Four freelancers, who frequently collaborated on various projects, realised that their combined skills were greater than the sum of their parts. What began as a loose network evolved into a company; one-off projects grew into long-term client relationships. Today, Grzegorz Kopij is the last remaining original founder. Although he has since stepped back from day-to-day management, he continues to lead the company as its technical visionary and CTO.
A pivotal moment in the company’s development came in 2010 with its expansion into Poland. At the time, Berlin simply lacked the necessary specialists, whereas Wroclaw offered a wealth of university talent and significant growth potential. This pragmatic move has since blossomed into a well-attuned German-Polish operation with two locations and a global outlook.
Networked Assets operates where networks become critical. Now based at Media City Adlershof, the company develops bespoke software for complex infrastructures—originally focused on telecommunications, but now reaching far beyond. To name but one example: The company builds systems that monitor millions of devices across Europe, detecting and ideally resolving faults before a customer even thinks of picking up the phone. Provisioning, network diagnostics, automation, and compliance—these are not industry buzzwords here but daily operatons.
For the past two years, Robert Bluschke has led the commercial department and the Berlin office as Chief Commercial Officer. He knows the client’s perspective intimately, having spent many years on the purchasing side—including a role as an architect for diagnostic and troubleshooting systems. Networked Assets was once his service provider; today, he shapes the brand from within. Acting as the link between technology and the market, Bluschke oversees marketing, sales, and positioning.
The essence of the business is captured by a term found on their website: “pragmatic software”. The focus is not on what is technically possible, but on what is practically purposeful. Rather build a working prototype in two weeks over a perfectly planned five-year project. Prioritise the simplest solution that adds real value over technical over-engineering. This attitude defines their workflow: small cross-functional teams, short iterations, and close client collaboration.
At the organisation level, Networked Assets values diversity and shared responsibility. With managing director Anna Matuszewska and head of operations Paulina Midura, the management team is intentionally diverse—a significant stance in an industry that remains predominantly male. Integrating various viewpoints is not a box-ticking exercise but part of their recipe for success.
The vision for the future is clear: Networks are becoming vital in every sector—from energy and smart cities to heavy industry. At the same time, regulatory and IT security requirements are growing. Networked Assets is positioned to help, offering scalable, affordable solutions for smaller players such as municipal utilities. Artificial intelligence will play a growing role, helping to surface knowledge faster and make development more efficient.
Twenty years in, Networked Assets has not become a faceless corporation—nor did it ever want to. It remains a specialist firm with a clear identity: technically deep, personally connected, and pragmatic in the best sense of the word.
