Das 4. FreightSim Symposium, das gemeinsam vom Deutschen Zentrum für Luft und Raumfahrt (DLR) – Institut für Verkehrsforschung und der Technischen Universität Berlin (TU Berlin) organisiert wird, bringt Forschende, Praktikerinnen, Vertreterinnen öffentlicher Behörden und Industrieexpertinnen und Experten zusammen, um die neuesten Fortschritte in der mikroskopischen, verhaltensbasierten Simulation von Frachttransport und Logistik zu teilen.
Zentrale Themen sind MATSim (Multi-Agent Freight Transport Simulation) und seine Fracht‑Plugins sowie der aktuelle Stand der Praxis bei der Modellierung von Entscheidungsebenen wie Flottenzusammensetzung, Fahrzeugrouting und Standortwahl. Die Veranstaltung steht allen Disziplinen offen, die in den Bereichen Logistik, räumliche und verkehrsplanerische Aufgaben sowie Verkehrswirtschaft tätig sind.

The 4th FreightSim symposium, jointly organized by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) – Institute of Transport Research and Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin), will bring together researchers, practitioners, public authority representatives and industry experts to share the latest advances in microscopic, behavior based freight transport and logistics simulation.
Key topics include MATSim (Multi-Agent Freight Transport Simulation) and its freight plugins, and the state‑of‑the‑practice modelling of decision layers such as fleet composition, vehicle routing, and facility‑location. The event is open to all disciplines involved in logistics, spatial and transport planning, and transport economics.
