Core of the company’s success is a low-temperature metallization process to deposit precious metals such as silver, gold, platinum and palladium on almost any material. The technology saves energy and metal and runs without any toxic chemicals or waste.

OrelTech / ATMOcoat is growing dynamically: the current team of seven is set to grow to over a dozen by the end of 2027. The company has recently launched its ATMOcoat brand for coatings in renewable energy components and is driving the further development and scaling of its ground-breaking single-step atmospheric metallization device.
The Position Our advanced materials company is looking for an experienced, reliable, and organized engineer to strengthen and – depending on experience and profile – lead its machine development team. The successful applicant has a M.Sc. or higher in Engineering, extensive experience in the design and building of aerosol generation and supply systems, at least 5 years of experience as a hands-on RnD engineer, and is capable to run projects from planning to execution. Experience as project manager and team lead are an asset. We expect a positive team-player attitude and a desire to work efficiently independently and within the existing and growing team. Knowledge and experience in aerosol generation, handling and aerosol-based coatings equipment is mandatory.

Tasks and responsibilities include:
● Design, engineering and iterative improvement of aerosol generation, supply, and deposition systems
● Testing and prototyping (intermediate stages) against defined requirements in terms of engineering functionality including software functions
● Fine tuning individual machine components for efficient manufacturability/scale up
● Working with programming partners to fine tune and implement back-end and UI software
● Design and fabricate machine parts through rapid prototyping using CAD and 3D-printing
● Conduct and document performance testing on machine prototype
● Planning and execution of strategy to industrial scale up of an aerosol-based printing/dispensing device

The ideal candidate has:
● At least 5 years of relevant work experience in liquid physics, mechanics, mechatronics
● Capability to independently use 3D CAD systems for machine engineering
● Hands-on experience in designing and implementing aerosol/liquid dispensing solutions
● Knowledge of electromechanical systems, materials, manufacturing processes, surfaces for the development of additive manufacturing equipment
● Ideally project management experience in R&D hardware development
● Fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in German is an asset
● Leadership experience is highly welcome
