ILS has a nearly 20-year history of continued innovation and growth. This belief in innovation and financial conservatism has its roots in the founder’s use of funds from a refugee grandmother to start the company, and his personal passion for chemical R&D tool development. We are proud to have continued this heritage, which has been reflected in 100% profitability since our founding and completely self-funded, organic growth to nearly 60 dedicated employees today.

The last years have shown strong growth particularly in areas like plastics recycling, eFuels and hydrogen production and transportation projects. We are proud to make a significant contribution to global R&D in these areas. With our most recent rapid growth we see an important need to shift our experienced team’s focus away from a primarily technical focus to operational efficiency. To design, construct and commission our innovative units in a on budget and on-time, with few errors will help our clients who are often keen to rapidly generate IP.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as the Group Leader of our Process Engineering department. This department represents the core of chemical process innovation at ILS. Project Leaders in this group co-ordinate key tasks between different production and automation groups as well as with clients and suppliers. • Someone who is the calm in the eye of the storm, and brings excellent crises management skills to calm others in tough situations
  • 10+ years of experience managing groups of 8 or more highly qualified people
  • 10+ years of industrial experience including having worked with chemical processing field equipment, or lab- or pilot-scale R&D units
  • Preferably a technical degree (MSc) in the following fields: chemical engineering, process engineering, automation or similar
  • The ability to zoom out and see the big picture and not lose yourself in technical details that are other people’s jobs
  • A person who inspires others to make rational, fact-based decisions and recognizes the importance of knowing what they don’t know and asking for help when they need it
  • An ability to find a simple yet effective process engineering solution to challenging problems
  • Someone who can manage the expectations and relationships with demanding clients on large and complex projects
  • Well-honed problem solving skills for complex multi-variable engineering issues under time and cost pressure
  • Basic understanding of Process Automation
