Forth Dimension Displays stellt neue 3D-Technik in Japan vor

Replicating Reality™ auf der Expo Tokyo vom 22-24 Juni

Forth Dimensions Displays (ForthDD) is to exhibit at this year’s IVR 3D and Virtual Reality Expo, which will be held from June 22-24, at Tokyo International Exhibition Center (Tokyo Big Sight). At the expo, ForthDD will unveil Replicating Reality™, a brand new concept which creates the ultimate experience by making the user feel fully immersed in a different world or hyper-reality. Initially launching within the gaming industry, it is hoped that this concept will eventually revolutionise the consumer entertainment industry.

IVR is Japan’s largest exhibition showcasing the latest in 3D technology and super-high definition imaging. The show attracts a huge amount of attendees from various sectors including manufacturing, broadcasting, entertainment, telecommunications, universities and research centres.

ForthDD, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kopin Corporation, is the world’s leading supplier of high resolution microdisplays for Near-To-Eye (NTE) applications. The company’s experience supplying displays for high-performance training and virtual reality head-mounted displays (HMDs) had a huge part to play in the development of the Replicating Reality™ concept which will be demonstrated through a fully immersive 3D HMD. This demo will enable the user to experience motor racing in a new way - as if driving on a real racetrack. This concept has been designed to be both thought provoking and suggestive and has few limitations as to which applications it could be used for. This leaves the mind to ponder what the future really holds for the entertainment industry.
